a. Bleeding Moulage Reservoir. Fill the reservoir with water, dry outside surfaces well and let hang for 5 minutes. Check for leaks at the reservoir stopper and hose outlets. There shall be no leakage at reservoir stopper and no more than 9 drops per 5 minutes at the hose outlet.
b. Bleeding Moulage System. With reservoir full of water, work pump to check for proper operation of pump, valves and connecting tubing to give appearance of simulated bleeding. Also check system for leaks at connections. There shall be no visible leakage at connections over a 3 minute period.
c. Carrying Case Drop Test. With all kit items loaded inside the case, drop 4 times onto a concrete floor from a height of 50 centimeters, once each onto each bottom corner. There shall be no damage to the case or contents. Minor scuffing of case is acceptable.
d. Detergent/Hot Water Test. Soak 12 plastic moulages in a mild detergent/warm water solution (120°F ± 5°F) for 1 hour, rinse in warm water, pat dry. There shall be no deterioration of color or surface finish.
Metric products. Products manufactured to metric dimensions will be considered on an equal basis with those manufactured using inch-pound units, providing they fall within the tolerance specified using conversion tables contained in the latest revision of Federal Standard 376, and all other requirements of this document are met.
If a product is manufactured to metric dimensions and those dimensions exceed the tolerances specified in the inch/pound units, a request should be made to the contracting officer to determine if the product is acceptable.
The contracting officer has the option of accepting or rejecting the product.
Contractor certification. The contractor shall certify that the product offered meets the salient characteristics of this description and conforms to the producers’ own drawings, specifications, standards, and quality assurance practices. The Government reserves the right to require proof of such conformance prior to first delivery and thereafter as may be otherwise provided for under the provisions of the contract.
