Vent Meter.
An analog type vent meter which indicates the range of ventilation volumes from 0 to 2.0 liters shall be included. The vent meter face shall be color coded green and red to indicate correct volume and incorrect volume respectively. The vent meter shall be connected to the simulator via pneumatic tube permanently attached to the manikin.
Compression Meter.
A compression meter shall be included to indicate the depth of compression obtained when pressure is applied to the correct section of the sternum. The dial shall be calibrated in millimeters and shall have a color coded green segment indicating correct depth range of 38 to 51 mm (1-1/2 to 2 inches). The compression meter shall be connected to the simulator via a pneumatic tube permanently attached to the manikin.
Recording Device.
A recording device to record EAR and ECC performance or pre-printed pressure sensitive strip paper by two separate pens located inside the recorder shall be included. The paper transport shall be operated by a synchronously running motor/120 VAC, 60 Hz. The writing device shall record the volume, frequency, and duration of each ventilation, the depth and frequency of each compression; stomach inflation; wrong hand position; and the ratio between compressor and relaxation. The recorder shall be connected to the simulator via pneumatic tubing permanently attached to the manikin.
The manikin accessories shall be packaged in a suitable carrying case container for storage and transport.
All of the above shall be over-packed in a commercially acceptable container.
Toxicity. All elements shall be certified to consist of nontoxic materials which will not degrade to a toxic state.
Workmanship. The manikin shall be free from defects which detract from its appearance or impair its serviceability.
Unit. Each (EA). One manikin, as specified, constitutes one unit.
Inspection. Inspection, as used herein, is defined as both examination (such as visual or auditory investigation without the use of special laboratory appliances or procedures) and testing (determination by technical means of physical and chemical properties) of the item.
Tests. Tests shall be conducted to determine compliance with specification requirements. Where feasible, the same sample shall be used for the determination of two or more inspection characteristics.
